Shriner Home

Recently we had the opportunity to install a landscape at the home of Natalie Shriner.  Ms. Shriner wanted something a little different.  She had just added on a wood covering on her porch and bought some lovely lawn furniture to accent the area.   What she needed was a view to go with the new addition.

Her current view consisted of a lawn area, fence and the upper back half of her neighbor's house.  The solution to her problem was a new fence which was higher than the old one and a garden to create a new outdoor living space.

Natalie's yard had a natural swail to it and Elizabeth decided to use this feature in her design.  She created a dry river bed with a wood bridge in that area.  Her design also included paving the area under the porch with natural flagstone and adding a flagstone path which winds throughout the garden.  She left a grass area on the far side of the dry river bed and created flowing beds on the perimeters of the lawn and the river bed.

What resulted is a beautiful and natural looking garden that is an outdoor haven for Natalie.  Please click on the buttons below to view some before and after pictures of Natalie's garden as well as a copy of her landscape drawing.
